The DeepWater Exploration exploreHD is a 400-meter depth-rated USB camera that easily connects to your BlueROV2, BlueBoat, or other vehicle to provide an additional live video stream.

It plugs directly into the onboard Raspberry Pi where BlueOS automatically handles camera detection and stream setup. Even if you’re not using BlueOS, this camera is UVC compliant, making it plug-and-play with most host devices.

The camera uses a 1/2.9″ Sony Exmor CMOS sensor for high-quality images and low-light sensitivity. Onboard compression supports H.264, MJPEG, and YUY2 formats without major quality loss or latency. Built-in image processing delivers clear underwater visuals with reliable white balance and color accuracy.

Mount Anywhere, See Everywhere

The exploreHD is ultra compact and can be mounted just about anywhere on a vehicle. Use multiple cameras to get views from any angle—mount one on the bottom of a BlueBoat to observe the seafloor during surveys, keep an eye on your tether with a rear facing camera on your BlueROV2, or use side and top angles for better situational awareness. Streams can be viewed directly in QGroundControl or Cockpit, with support for picture-in-picture in Cockpit to monitor multiple feeds at once.

The camera has a 1-meter cable and preinstalled WetLink Penetrator so it’s ready to connect to either the BlueROV2 or BlueBoat out of the box. It’s enclosed in its own aluminum 6061 housing that is waterproof and rated to 400 meters depth. The included mounting bracket allows the camera to be adjusted to any angle. Hardware to mount the bracket to the vehicle is not included but check out the installation guides for mounting tips and suggestions!
