Blue Robotics Lithium Battery Charging Guide

Safety

Batteries have a high energy density and must be handled with care to ensure safe operation and longevity. Always read the battery manual before charging.

  • Do not leave unattended while charging.
  • Do not exceed the battery's maximum charge or discharge rate.
  • Do not cover cooling fans or use on a soft surface.

Charging

The H6 PRO charger supports 4S (14.8 V) and 6S* (22.2 V) lithium-ion and lithium polymer batteries of at least 10,000 mAh capacity. Do not use with other chemistries or smaller capacities.

Important: 6S batteries are supported by default in R2 H6 PRO chargers with updated firmware. Older chargers require a firmware update.

DO NOT plug the battery cable into the DC Power In port. Connecting the battery to this port while the charger is connected to AC power will damage the charger and the battery and may lead to fire, property damage, or injury.
    1. Connect the XT90 cable and balance cable from the battery to the XT90 cable adapter and balance lead extension cable.

    1. Press the select key (circle) and use the arrow touch keys to select “Cell count”. Choose the appropriate cell count for the battery you are charging (4S 14.8 V or 6S 22.2 V).
    2. Use the arrow keys to select “Select task” and choose either “Charge” or “Storage”.
      • “Charge” will fully charge the battery to 4.20 volts per cell (16.8 V for 4S or 25.2 V for 6S) for immediate use.
      • “Storage” will charge or discharge the battery to 3.80 volts per cell, ideal for storage and transport.
      • Storage charging the battery is strongly recommended at any time the battery will be stored and not used for more than a day (lithium-ion batteries) or for several hours (lithium polymer batteries). This will ensure the longest possible battery cycle life.
    3. Select “Start Task” and wait for task to complete. The select button can be pressed at any point to cancel the present operation.
    4. The Charger will automatically stop and beep upon task completion.

Make sure to keep the battery and charger away from flammable materials and monitor the battery as it charges, discontinue charging if it becomes hot or changes in appearance.

Refer to the HOTA H6 PRO Full Manual, available for download in the technical details above, for complete technical specifications, instructions, and details about other charger functions if using unlocked firmware.
